Raphael Varane's Man Utd future uncertain amid contract revelation
Raphael Varane's Manchester United contract runs out at the end of this season and not in the summer of 2025 as previously believed, sources have confirmed to 90min. Varane's deal does include a 12-month option to extend it until 2025, but if left untriggered by the club he could depart as soon as June as a free agent. Despite being unveiled to much fanfare in 2021, Varane's future at Old Trafford is far from certain, having lost his place in the starting line-up in recent months. Harry Maguire has been preferred as a right-footed centre-back and even veteran summer arrival Jonny Evans has been ahead of him in the pecking order. The 30-year-old France international joined from Real Madrid in a deal worth just over £40m, but a new contract at this moment in time is looking highly unlikely. Whether United take up the option on his current deal is also doubtful but the club have not ruled it out. Raphael Varane has been largely out of favour this season / Michael Regan/Gett...
