Taylor Swift is remaining ‘positive’ about rerecording all of her music after Scooter Braun controversy

She’s taking the high road in a difficult situation which played out publicly earlier this summer.

And Taylor Swift admitted during a sit-down with BBC Radio 1 that she’s remaining ‘positive’ about the opportunity to rerecord all of her music.

The  pop star chatted it up with Clara Amfo and revealed that she’s looking forward to diving back into her past to recreate the music she no longer owns after switching record labels and losing the rights to her master work to mega manager Scooter Braun.

When Clara asked how it felt to legally own her first and latest album, Lover, Taylor was overjoyed.

‘It’s the best,’ she said. ‘It’s literally the most satisfying feeling in the world.’

Swift had been with Big Machine Label since she was 15 and moved over to Universal Music Group’s Republic Record in a well-publicized deal.

At the time of the switch, things seemed amicable between all parties involved, but it was later revealed that Scooter had acquired all of her master recordings from Big Machine’s Scott Borchetta, a deal that had fans and artists divided on legalities.

‘I know exactly what happened,’ Taylor said. ‘I think if you look at what happened it’s very obvious … it’s just right there.’

Ever one to take the high road, the Picture to Burn popstar is looking toward the future to reclaim a bit of her past.

‘I choose to look now at the positive of getting to go back in and rerecord all of my own music,’ she said. ‘I get to go back and revisit these moments of my life. Am I happy it happened? Absolutely not. I’m going to choose to redo all of my music and be happy about that.’

And while Taylor jumps back into the studio next year, fans and foes have criticized her recent launch into the political sphere after remaining on the sidelines with opinions for most of her career.

‘I wasn’t worried about backlash because at a certain point it’s about right and wrong,’ she said. ‘I think that this is the most imperative time in our political History, I think, in America.

‘You know, you really can’t care at a certain point if you’re going to be honest about what you think and how you feel and what you believe in. You have to put it out there and just log off.’
