Warzone 2 Players Baffled By Bots On Ashika Island
The addition of bots to matches of Resurgence on the map Ashika Island has left many Call of Duty: Warzone 2 players puzzled, some even calling for the developer behind the Game, Infinity Ward, to reconsider the necessity of this particular feature. Infinity Ward has not yet responded to these criticisms on the part of players.
Players were at first eager to experience the brand new, faster paced Gameplay offered by this first Resurgence map, Ashika Island. The addition of these bots, on the other hand, has clearly made the experience a lot more chaotic than expected, resulting in many players avoiding the map altogether.
Players have naturally been taking their complaints to social media, creating a series of threads on Reddit to voice their concerns, many questioning the logic behind the addition of bots to an already fast paced Game mode like Resurgence. The most upvoted of these was first posted earlier this week by someone going by the name of TapInBogey who began by “genuinely, truly, earnestly, asking for an explanation for the logic of adding bots to Ashika Island. Why?”
“There are so many ‘nobody asked for this’ things the developers have done, but this one especially blows my mind,” TapInBogey said on the social media platform. “Rebirth is fast paced with tons of third party attacks and it’s hard to sometimes keep your wits because of the bullets flying everywhere. And then you add bots stomping around, shooting at you, distracting you, giving away your position. Again, I have been baffled by a lot of choices, but this one is really one that makes me think the developers don’t even play the Game.”
The majority of players apparently agree with TapInBogey, some for example suggesting that Infinity Ward should focus on fixing the various bugs and glitches in the Game instead of adding unnecessary or otherwise questionable features. Since the second season of content, Reloaded, is currently scheduled to be released later this month on March 15, many players are however hopeful that Infinity Ward will listen to their feedback and make the necessary changes. While some have suggested that bots should be removed entirely, others have proposed reducing the numbers of them to make the Gameplay somewhat less chaotic.
The addition of bots to the Resurgence matches on Ashika Island has clearly left players feeling frustrated and confused. Whether this will impact the popularity of Warzone 2 in the long run remains to be seen, but many players are apparently hoping for a short term solution. When exactly the developer will address the issue is at this point unclear, but at least for the moment, the bots are continuing to run rampant.
